un.procedure are an experimental–jazz-electronic outfit from Birmingham, UK, made up of synth player Piera Onacko, drummer and electronic artist Nathan England-Jones and Mercury Prize nominated alto-saxophonist Cassie Kinoshi.

Within an electronic-led, suspenseful sound, un.procedure fly anywhere between doom-laden atmospherics, psychedelic textures and cosmic synth sections. Topped with guttural sax, their music calls to mind the tense soundtracks of 70s sci-fi cinema and the avant-garde jazz movement of the late 60s. Cemented by a backdrop of pulsing collage projections created and controlled by multifaceted visual artist Guri Bosh, their live set has been described as “a narcotic and dystopian journey that had plenty of heads spinning” (Guy Oddy, The Arts Desk).

un.procedure’s recent activity includes the development of an audiovisual installation, Themory, which premiered at Manchester Jazz Festival, the curation of a playlist for BBC 6 Music’s flagship experimental show Freak Zone, and a tour of Germany and the UK in the summer of 2023.
